id say "this time darling" is super personal...

its about moving on, and realizin that one time you arent gonna land on your feet, lady luck is not sittin on your shoulder this time...

and "ball and chain" is a no brainer...

when shit gets too tough, you just give up, hang your head and ask for help...its a total sittin in your car shit-hammered drunk cryin about your life kinda song. i guess thats why they put that in the lyrics....yeah....um.....

for me its Mommy's Little Monster.

my parents despise who i am, the way i dress, the music, etc. and its not like im listening to music about killing puppies or anything. i listen to Dion and Bobby Darin for christs sake...

For me, it's " I Was Wrong ".

For all the times I hurt the people I loved the most in my life. Either family, my boyfriend, or friends in general. I finally reached the point in my life where I admit I was the one who was fucked up and now I can make up for the shit I've done...

There's a few that hit home with me, but the one song that hits the hardest & brings tears to my eyes when I hear it, is Angels Wings.

for me, "i was wrong" is the most personal for many the same reasons as smitten kitten. I was a sick, degenerate, compulsive gambler and i ruined many good friendships because if it, i lost jobs, i lost a good loving wife, and i wound up in jail also. Being "clean" now for nearly a year still doesnt take back all the pain i caused others because i couldnt stay out of the card rooms. I play that song when i need to remind myself that i can be a real prick sometimes.

WELL I NEVER TOLD YOU MINE. THAT'S BECAUSE THEY ALL ARE PERSONAL TO ME IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. I MEAN CERTAIN THINGS HIT ME RIGHT IN THE CHEST AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT SONGS. FOR INSTANCE, BALL AND CHAIN. I HAVE BEEN THERE MANY OF TIMES. I WAS WRONG I AM WRONG A LOT AND SHIT LIFE IS LONG ESPECIALY WHEN YOU MAKE THE WRONG DESCIONS. SHE'S A KNOCK OUT. DAMN MY LOVE FOR WOMEN IN GENERAL BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE FOR ME.

"A DOG MAY CHASE A CAR BUT HE WILL NEVER DRIVE ONE" MY FUTURE FATHER IN LAW SAID THAT TO ME AND HE TOLD ME NEVER TO FORGET IT.

i would have to say "i wasnt born to follow" becuz:

1. i have always done things my own way and have always been the first out of anyone i know to get into things
2. old punk rock is something very close to my heart, and being too young to have been there but trying to imagine what it must have been like to have taken part in musical revolution like that, that song coming from a band that was there and it really touches base on those feelings of believing in it

Ya know, almost every SxDx song has something personal in it that relates to issues I've gone through at one time or another. One song that I didn't pay much attention to at first but really hit me hard one night while I was drinking alone was one of Mike's solo Cheating At Solitaire songs: Ballad Of A lonely Man. It's about a Vietnam vet dealing with shit after he came home. It's like Mike knew me when he wrote it.
